I.                   Call to Order

·         The meeting was called to order at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall, 270 South River Avenue, Holland, Michigan by Mark Geister.

II.                Unfinished Business

·         A letter to Soren Wolff will be written by the year's end to request a paid position for a Teen Court Coordinator. A sub-committee will be formed during the October meeting to write the letter to Soren Wolff.

·         Melissa Elliot and Gail Weigal were introduced to the advisory board, and will jointly represent Zeeland High School on the board as Diane Geese's replacement. Applications of appointment need to be submitted to City Council.

·         Due to lack of referrals, a motion was approved to table involving Black River School in HTC at this time. A review to involve other schools will be made after evaluating additional referral options.

III.              New Business

·         A date for an October session was not set due to a lack of referrals.

·          Referral sources were discussed and it was decided:

o        OTTAWA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPT: to explore the feasibility of expanding HTC boundaries into Ottawa County. Nicole will bring statistical data to the next meeting to determine the average caseload of juvenile referrals from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.

o        HOLLAND AREA SCHOOLS: to table school involvement as a source of referrals until after the feasibility study to expand HTC to include Ottawa County.

·         A discussion regarding the lack of attendance by Holland Police Department board member, Al Rios, was a point of concern. Josh and Joyce will meet with Detective Rios to discuss the importance of having a HPD representative attend the board meetings.

IV.              Announcements
